Meet the Artist

Dutch born textile artist Marianne Alberda started at a young age with experiments in combined knitting, crochet and mixed fabric pieces of oversized forms, growing into a preferred mode of working in embroidered weaving. She expresses her ever expanding artistic zest for life via embroidering stimulated senses on ever bigger pieces of cloth, preferable antique French linen. In growing passionate rhythmic flows of silk, wool, cotton and cashmere, she keeps in mind the revered traditions of detailed historic Gobelins with intricate embroideries from the Middle Ages and Renaissance.
